How do I calculate X% of a number?
Multiply the number by X and divide by 100. For example, 20% of 500 = 500 × 20 ÷ 100 = 100.
How do I find what percent one number is of another?
Divide the first number by the second and multiply by 100. For example, 25 out of 200 = 25 ÷ 200 × 100 = 12.5%.
How do I calculate percentage increase or decrease?
Use (new − old) ÷ old × 100. A positive result is an increase and a negative result is a decrease. For example, going from 80 to 100 is a 25% increase.
Can I use it for discounts and markups?
Yes. In the 'Add or subtract a percentage' box, a ₹2,000 item with 15% off becomes ₹1,700, and ₹2,000 with 18% added becomes ₹2,360.
